For over a decade, I’ve proudly partnered with Kolar Arms, starting my journey by hand-checkering gunstocks using their signature pattern. Over the course of two years, I completed checkering on nearly 100 stocks before shifting my focus toward more creatively fulfilling work.

For the past eight years, I’ve specialized in custom firearm engraving for Kolar, completing approximately 50 full receiver engraving projects. All of which have been my own custom design. Additionally, every single job has been unique. I have no "cookie cutter" pattern. My work also includes numerous partial engravings, such as trigger guards, top levers, barrel hangers, and more—often featuring intricate 24k gold inlay designs.

Regarding factory engraving, Kolar Arms uses dozens of independent contractors. However, they have one engraver who is a full-time employee and has been with them essentially from the beginning: Dennis Zietz. Day in and day out, he is all about cutting metal — and he is nothing short of amazing. He’s been doing it for decades, and it truly shows. I’m so grateful that he’s been an open book, willing to share his knowledge and experience in the art. He is truly awesome. To have a Kolar shotgun engraved by Dennis is special — he is the one and only.

Whether it’s precision checkering or detailed metal engraving, my work reflects a deep respect for craftsmanship and exceeds Kolar’s factory standards.
